Nice to meet you :)
Budapest is a city I know deeply, and I have always believed that a place becomes far more meaningful when you experience it through the stories, atmosphere and local details that bring it to life. That is the spirit behind my tours.
As a licensed private guide, I love helping visitors discover not only Budapest’s best-known landmarks, but also the character, history and perspectives that make the city feel more personal and memorable. As Budapest Private Tours has grown, I’ve also begun working with a small team of trusted guide colleagues, which means that depending on the tour and availability, your experience may be led either by me or by one of my carefully selected collaborators.
Whether you are visiting for the first time, returning to see more, or planning a special day beyond the capital, my aim is always the same: to create a private experience that feels well-paced, thoughtful and tailored to you.
Why I love guiding
For me, guiding is not just about showing places. It is about helping people connect with a city through its stories, atmosphere and cultural character.
I love seeing how differently travelers experience Budapest — what catches their attention, what questions they ask, what moments stay with them. Every private tour feels a little different, and that is exactly what I enjoy most.
Some guests are drawn to history, others to architecture, food, Jewish heritage, countryside culture or simply the pleasure of discovering a place at a comfortable pace. My role is to help shape that experience in a way that feels natural, personal and rewarding.

Private and personal
Every experience is designed around you, not around a large group. That means more flexibility, more comfort and a more personal rhythm throughout the day.

Flexible and well-paced
Some travelers like a fuller schedule, others prefer a slower pace. I always try to shape the day around what feels right for you.

Thoughtfully guided
I want you to enjoy not only the sights, but also the stories and context that help Budapest and Hungary feel more meaningful and easier to understand.

More than a checklist
Of course, we can explore the major highlights - but I also love sharing the details, atmosphere and perspectives that people often remember most.

Who my tours are for
I welcome couples, families, solo travelers and small groups who are looking for a more personal way to experience Budapest and Hungary.
My tours work especially well for:
> first-time visitors who want a thoughtful introduction <
> travelers who prefer private experiences over large group tours <
> guests with specific interests such as history, architecture, wine, Jewish heritage or countryside culture <
> visitors who value comfort, flexibility and local insight <
Why guests choose to explore with me
Because I know Budapest deeply
I guide with strong local knowledge, historical context and a real understanding of the city’s character.
Because I’m licensed
I offer private guiding with professional experience and genuine respect for the places and stories I share.
Because I keep it personal
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all touring. I believe in creating the right experience for the people in front of me.
Because the little details matter
From pacing to atmosphere to practical ease, I want the day to feel smooth and genuinely enjoyable from beginning to end.

My favourite questions
What do you love most about Budapest?
I love how layered it is - grand and elegant in some places, quiet and intimate in others, and always full of stories.
What kind of travelers do you enjoy guiding most?
I enjoy working with curious travelers who want more than a checklist and appreciate a personal, thoughtful experience.
Do you only guide in Budapest?
No - I also offer day trips and private experiences beyond the capital, depending on what you would like to explore.
What makes a private tour special?
For me, it is the freedom to shape the day around the guest. That is what makes it feel more natural, enjoyable and memorable.

Agnes is very personable and thoughtful and a delight to be with for a couple of days. She grew up and lives in the area so she is well steeped in the history and getting around town. We chose to have her drive as well as walk a good deal.

Agnes was great. She tailored our tours to exactly what we wanted and took into consideration that we had teenagers with us. I highly recommend her.
